What is Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)?
PRP is a facial rejuvenation treatment that uses your own plasma to stimulate collagen production and cell migration, allowing for the elimination of lines, folds, and wrinkles. Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) is an extract of your own blood that contains three to five times more platelets, growth factors and active proteins for tissue and injury healing. When PRP is placed back into the skin by injection or micro-needling, it initiates a localized stem cell response.
Results from PRP therapy are natural looking and subtle, and they can last for as long as two years. What’s more, PRP is minimally invasive, has no risk of allergic reaction, and can be used to treat nearly any area of the body without risks of side-effects, making it ideal for patients who are not interested in or are not good candidates for injectable fillers.
How does Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) work?
Blood is drawn from the patient and is placed in a centrifuge and spun in order to separate the blood from the growth factors, platelets, and stem cells. The remaining platelet-rich plasma is then injected or micro-needled into the treated area. Our body naturally produces stem cells that help us heal by stimulating the growth of collagen, as well as blood vessels that deliver oxygen to bodily tissues. Platelets and growth factors found in the blood stimulate stem cells, and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) contains three to five times as many of these substances as normal blood. PRP has been used for many years to heal wounds.
This 1 hour treatment, minimal to no downtime, collagen inducting treatment uses a handheld device with micro-needles to penetrate the skin (at varying depths from .25 mm to 2.5 mm) to treat acne scars, fine lines and wrinkles, pore size, uneven skin tone, stretch marks and poor skin elasticity.
PRP Injections in Cancun
PRP is injected directly into the skin to improve the texture, tone, and firmness of the skin. Multiple PRP injections will be made to trigger cell reproduction and rejuvenate the complexion.
What are the benefits of PRP?
Platelet-rich plasma contains high amounts of growth factors that promote wound healing and skin rejuvenation. When this all-natural solution is applied to the face, it stimulates the production of collagen. This provides many benefits, including the:
- Restoration of skin elasticity
- Smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles
- Reduction of inflammation
- Thickening of the skin
- Improvement of skin tone and texture
- Treatment of delicate and hard-to-reach areas, such as under the eye
How many sessions will I need?
It is ideal to undergo a minimum of three treatments with a gap of four to six weeks in order to get the maximum output of PRP skin rejuvenation treatment. Post treatment, the first effect will appear in the first month when you will experience the improvement in the skin texture. Most of the collagen is reproduced in about 3 months after the treatment is finished. When that happens, one can experience youthfulness of skin which is amply lifted and has lesser wrinkles or lines.
